The Walking Dead Is Creeping Into Modern Warfare III In Season 2
By Lewis "lickety" Larcombe|January 31, 2024|0 Comment
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III has just unveiled an exciting partnership with AMC’s acclaimed TV series, The Walking Dead. As the action-packed Season 1 Reloaded unfolds, introducing new characters from The Boys, a 6v6 Rio map, and more, it’s clear that Modern Warfare III is gearing up for a sensational second season.
Despite being on the market for only two and a half months, Modern Warfare III has consistently raised the stakes by incorporating high-profile characters from the film and television realm. The lead-up to Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated sci-fi sequel, Dune: Part Two, witnessed the addition of franchise protagonists Paul Atreides and antagonist Feyd-Rautha as purchasable operators. The recent Season 1 Reloaded saw the return of The Boys with the introduction of Firecracker and A-Train to the Modern Warfare III universe.
As Season 1 hurtles towards its conclusion, the latest announcement from Call of Duty promises an even more massive crossover event, this time with the widely popular zombie apocalypse TV show, The Walking Dead. A captivating YouTube video released by Call of Duty recreates The Walking Dead’s iconic show opener, using shots from Modern Warfare III’s Urzikstan map, complete with the show’s signature sepia filter and music. The teaser features cameo appearances by The Walking Dead’s integral characters, Rick and Michonne, alongside Modern Warfare III’s own Vladimir Makarov.
While The Walking Dead boasts an array of compelling characters, the trailer suggests that Rick and Michonne will take centre stage as leaders of the ensemble in this crossover. Speculation is rife that this collaboration could mark the beginning of a lasting partnership, possibly introducing more characters from The Walking Dead in subsequent seasons, echoing The Boys’ return with A-Train and Firecracker.
Notably absent from the trailer is a concrete release date for this highly anticipated crossover. However, industry insiders suggest that The Walking Dead may headline Modern Warfare III’s Season 2, urging fans to keep a close eye on Call of Duty updates as Season 1 draws to a close in the coming weeks. Excitement is building as gamers eagerly await the immersive fusion of two powerhouse franchises in what promises to be a game-changer for Modern Warfare III.
