Dead Island 2 Shocks Fans With Surprise Xbox Game Pass Debut

In a surprising turn of events, Dead Island 2 has made its unexpected debut on Xbox Game Pass, much to the delight of fans eagerly anticipating its release. While console players can now delve into the zombie-infested world of Dead Island 2 through the subscription service, PC gamers will have to wait a bit longer to join the fray.

Originally unveiled back in 2014, Dead Island 2 has been plagued by a tumultuous development journey, marked by numerous setbacks and changes in development teams. However, the game found new life when Dambuster, an internal studio at Deep Silver, took the reins in 2019, breathing fresh hope into the project.

After years of anticipation, Dead Island 2 finally saw the light of day last April, launching on a variety of platforms including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store. The game’s release was met with resounding success, surpassing all expectations by selling over one million copies within just three days and doubling that figure within its first month on the market.

Embracer Group, the parent company of Deep Silver, hailed Dead Island 2’s launch as a historic moment, marking it as the publisher’s most successful release to date in terms of both units sold and revenue generated. The game’s popularity has only continued to grow since its initial release, drawing in players with its intense zombie action and immersive gameplay experience.

Excitement is now mounting as Deep Silver recently confirmed that Dead Island 2 will soon be making its way to Steam, with a scheduled release date set for 22 April. This announcement has sparked renewed anticipation among PC gamers who have been eagerly awaiting the chance to embark on their own undead adventure.

As the saga of Dead Island 2 continues to unfold, fans can look forward to diving into its thrilling world of survival horror, armed with an arsenal of weapons and ready to face hordes of the undead. With its surprise debut on Xbox Game Pass and upcoming release on Steam, Dead Island 2 is poised to captivate audiences and solidify its place as a standout title in the realm of zombie gaming.
