Reynatis Is A New Action RPG Featuring Some Japanese Heavyweights

Nintendo’s recent partner direct “livestream” wasn’t only in English; there was a separate Japanese broadcast featuring some exclusive local titles. One of them is sure to be catching every JRPG fan’s eye.

The upcoming action RPG for Nintendo Switch is called Reynatis. The trailer shows off two protagonists -one mysterious guy and one commander woman from a yet-to-be-named army- as they supposedly team up to take care of some monsters and enemy soldiers in contemporary times.

The game is being made by serious talent gathered together under developer Natsume Atari and FuRyu. Kazushige Nojima of Final Fantasy fame is doing the scenario, while Yoko Shimomura of Kingdom Hearts and Live-A-Live fame will be doing the music.

Here’s the full list:

Scenario: Kazushige Nojima
Composer: Yoko Shimomura
Character Design: Yasutaka Kaburagi
Key Visual: Yusuke Naora
Pre-Rendered Movies: StudioGOONEYS
Planning/Producer/Director: Takumi Isobe (FuRyu)
Development: Natsume Atari

Gameplay trailer & key art are below. Reynatis will be out for Nintendo Switch on 25 July in Japan; no English version has been confirmed yet, though we suspect NIS America will handle it and eventually announce this in the future.  Hopefully that’s the case, as Reynatis looks promising.
