[Rumour] Nier 3 Teased At Game’s London Concert

It’s been 7 years since we’ve had a Nier game, and 3 years since the first game’s remake. It’s probably high time for a sequel to a cherished RPG franchise, and it looks like we might be getting one.

During the NieR London concert this weekend (according to the fans who attended via ResetEra), the tail end of the event had game director Yoko Taro appearing on stage with the Square Enix president Takashi Kiryu. The duo asked the public to give the loudest possible round of applause if they wanted a sequel to happen; the room erupted with cheers. In addition, the concert’s screens had the words “R3PENT” popping up from time to time.

It’s probably nothing, but never let it be said that the minds behind Nier are a cryptic bunch. With Yoko Taro being busy as of late, it’s most likely that development for Nier 3 might be underway and in progress. Still, do take this with a grain of salt since this is just an anecdote from an audience from a recent concert and not official news. Then again, it’s been a while since we had an existential crisis-asking action role-playing game, right?

If you need some Nier in your life, Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising just added sexy android 2B in its roster, kinks and all.
