Superman Legacy is about to go into full production soon and director James Gunn has shared a photo of the main cast assembled for the first time.

Interestingly, the photo features our first look at a bald Nicholas Hoult, who will be playing the villain Lex Luthor. The photo also includes Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern/Guy Gardner), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), David Corenswet (Superman / Clark Kent), and several other actors. Notably, Milly Alcock is missing from the photo (she will be playing Kara Zor-El/Supergirl).

Director James Gunn wrote in the photo’s caption via Instagram:

“After the table read with the #Superman cast. Eve, Mr. Terrific, Superman/Clark, Otis, Lex, producer Peter Safran, Jimmy, Metamorpho, Lois, Hawkgirl, me, Guy, The Engineer all together for the first time! What a wonderful day.”

The cast for Superman Legacy currently also includes Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as archaeologist Rex Mason AKA Metamorpho, and more.

Superman Legacy is slated to premiere on 11 July 2025.

According to Warner Bros’ official logline, Superman Legacy tells the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.
