Apex Legends Pros Hacked During Live ALGS Regional Finals

The North America region for the Apex Legends Global Series was hit with a massive hack during its live finals. Apex Pros TSM Imperial Hal as well as DarkZero’s Genburten were targeted during the livestream. They were given blatant aimbot and cheats during one of the games. The finals have been postponed due to “competitive integrity” of the game being compromised. It is unclear as to whether all points gained will be kept or all games will have to be played once again.

Genburten was hit with the cheats first. He froze when he realized what was happening as he was suddenly given Apex observer tools which essentially gave him wallhacks. The cheater also spammed text in his game forcing Genburten to leave.

TSM Imperial Hal was then targeted in game four. After firing a couple of bullets, his shots then snapped to another unseen target. The game was completely abandoned after the incident.

The breaches are result from a notorious Apex Legends hacker, Destroyer2009. ALGS has issued a statement announcing that the matches will be postponed until further notice.

The Apex Legends team have been constantly under fire this season when it comes to their Easy Anti-Chat System, with games being plagued by cheaters. It’s one thing for cheaters to be infesting rank and the normal game modes, but giving pro players cheats in the biggest Apex Legends tournament is insane. It has been advised that players avoid logging on to Apex Legends until the EAC is secure, although major players are asking the community to just uninstall the game to be safe. Ea and Respawn have yet to make a comment on whether the public is safe from the hacks. This is the first time an ALGS has been disrupted by cheats.
