We’ll help you figure out how to unlock them, but there will be spoilers to their methods as some of them deal with story quests.

Default Vocations
These are the available Vocations at the start of the game.
- Fighter: A melee combatant that uses a sword-and-shield setup. This is your typical tanking class.
- Archer: A ranged combatant that shoots and snipes foes with arrows.
- Thief: A melee combatant that utilizes avoidance, as opposed to mitigation, while dealing a lot of damage.
- Mage: A support-oriented caster that has offensive, curative, and utility spells.
Warrior & Sorcerer Vocations
To unlock these two Vocations, you need to talk to the Vocation Guild NPC in Vernworth (the big castle kingdom in the early portions of the game). You need to get a greatsword and an archistaff as part of the Vocation Frustration quest. You can get these weapons in Trevo Mine (northwest of Vernworth).
Trickster Vocation
To unlock Trickster, you need to access a quest called Flickering Shadows. You can get this as part of the chain quests in Bakbattahl. During the Flickering Shadows quest, you need to talk to the Oracle named Luz. She is located north, fairly close to the border between Checkpoint Rest Town and Battahl.
Mystic Spearhand Vocation
There are two places you can unlock this Vocation. One is in the village named Melve (you can take an oxcart from Vernworth to get there). You need to talk to Sigurd while you’re doing the Readvent of Calamity quest.
If you missed him, you can find him in a small hut on the eastern edge of Harve Village when it’s fully restored. To do this, you need to complete the Scaly Invaders questline.
If you missed him and are further in the main quest of the game, you can head to Dragonsbreath Tower, located in the jungle southwest of Bakbattahl. You’ll meet him there.
Magick-Archer Vocation
You can unlock this Vocation as part of a quest on Agamen Volcanic Island. You need to reach the Windwalker’s Home and meet up with an elf woman named Cliodhna. She won’t give you the time of day, so you need to head out until you meet her husband Gautstafr the dwarf. Help him out, and them bring him to the Hot Springs. You’ll get a surprise from Cliondhna who will grant you the Vocation.
Warfarer Vocation
Head to Volcanic Island Camp Hot Springs and talk to a man named Lamond to start the questlines that will get you the Warfarer Vocation.
Give Lamond three bottles of Newt Liqueur to complete his quest and get the Vocation.
