Legendary game developer Shinji Mikami has formed a brand new studio and company called KAMUY Inc. The news was revealed via his creator blurb on the Shadows Of The Damned Hella Remastered official website. Previously, he left Tango Gameworks back in early 2023, which was the last company he founded.

The official blurb reads:

As director and producer of the Resident Evil and The Evil Within series and more, Mikami has created numerous blockbuster hit titles. 1996 saw the release of Resident Evil, on which he acted as director. He greatly contributed to the popularization of the survival–horror genre, and has had a major impact on the video game industry ever since.

In 2010, Mikami founded Tango K.K. (renamed Tango Gameworks in October of the same year after becoming part of ZeniMax Media Inc.), after which he directed and released The Evil Within. He also acted as executive producer on Ghostwire: Tokyo and Hi-Fi RUSH.

After leaving Tango Gameworks, he established KAMUY Inc.

However, Mikami has yet to officially announce or reveal the establishment of KAMUY yet (at the time of writing). Shadows Of The Damned Hella Remastered developer Grasshopper Manufacture must have accidentally included that part unintentionally in Mikami’s blurb on the website.

Shinji Mikami started his career at Capcom in the 90s, with this big break being the first Resident Evil game for PlayStation, as well as the iconic Resident Evil 4. He also worked with PlatinumGames on the criminally underrated shooter Vanquish before founding Tango Gameworks in 2010 and releasing the Evil Within games.

Shadows Of The Damned Hella Remastered is slated to release for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC sometime in 2024.
