What are Major Orders?
Helldivers 2 Major Orders are essentially community goals and challenges that everybody playing the game will collectively work towards and help progress together. At the end of it all awaits big rewards, and Major Orders usually involve goals such as clearing worlds of enemies, defending them from attack, and more.
Helldivers 2 players can check the current Major Order in the top right-hand corner of the pause menu, located above the Personal Order. The Major Orders will influence the ongoing narrative of the galactic war in the game.
At the time of writing, Helldivers 2 has surpassed a whopping 458,709 all-time peak of players on Steam (via SteamDB). This has caused many issues for players wanting to play the game online, as the servers have struggled to keep up with the influx of players.
Developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by PlayStation, Helldivers 2 is a third-person squad-based shooter that sees the elite forces of the Helldivers battling to win an intergalactic struggle to rid the galaxy of the rising alien threats. From a 3rd person perspective, players use a variety of weapons (pistols, machine guns, flamethrowers) and stratagems (turrets, airstrikes, etc.) to shoot and kill the alien threats. Players can also aim down the sights for a more accurate 1st person-camera view.
Combat is accompanied by frequent sprays of blood and dismemberment as players exterminate the alien forces or players and squad mates are hit by environmental explosions or friendly fire. Enemy encampments and battlefield environments depict bloodstains and dismembered corpses.
