Rusted Moss Coming To Consoles & Switch This June

2D grapple-hook-focused Metroidvania Rusted Moss, which came out for PC last year, will be out for consoles and Nintendo Switch this June 2024 according to publisher Playism and developer trio faxdoc, happysquared, and sunnydazed.

In Rusted Moss, players embark on a perilous journey across desolate landscapes, where the once-thriving human civilization is in a state of decline. The imminent arrival of faeries poses a grave threat to humanity, driving them to empower their own witches with stolen fae magic. In this desperate bid for survival, the player character, Fern, is introduced. Fern is a changeling, having been raised by unsuspecting human parents. Now, alongside a mysterious shadow named Puck, Fern embarks on a quest to return fae to the world and put an end to the Age of Men.

The developers have devoted significant time and effort to working on a final major content that was initially scheduled for release in Q4 2023. However, due to “development and porting adjustments,” it has been decided to postpone its release to coincide with the launch of the console version.

The update includes several notable additions, including the introduction of two new areas, over 300 new rooms, and a Boss Rush Mode. Additionally, a Maya Mode will be available, allowing players to take on the role of Maya and experience a new play style. In this mode, speedrun mode rules apply, so players should not expect any new dialogue additions or endings.

The update is planned to be launched on Steam around the same time as the console versions. Rusted Moss will be out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on 20 June 2024. Check out our review here.
