publisher Aniplex and developer Cut to Bits announced that their anticipated 2.5D Metroidvania titled Venture to the Vile will be launched for PC in the next couple of months.
In this game, your objective is to find your lost friend, Ella, in the strange town of Rainybrook, which has been overrun by a mysterious entity known as the Vile. Taking over everything it touches, except you. With each deadly encounter with the Vile and the many horrors within, you’ll gain new abilities, for better or worse. Your powers absorbed from the Vile may make you the town’s only hope or will you be one of the monsters yourself? You’ll have to experience the game to find out.
Its world presents various challenges, including puzzles, hidden areas, 40+ quirky characters, and intertwining storylines. Players must navigate through this perilous realm, utilizing their agility to leap, swing, and combat formidable foes. As they explore, they encounter a meticulously crafted 2.5D world filled with puzzles to solve and secrets to uncover. Along the way, they unlock new abilities to confront the Vile’s monstrosities, often at the cost of losing part of their humanity.
This interactive world features day and night cycles, as well as dynamic weather conditions, which impact the gameplay in different ways. At night, players encounter different monsters, adding an element of unpredictability to the experience. In addition to the primary quest, players are encouraged to seek out items and side quests that appear under specific conditions.
Venture to the Vile is slated to launch on 7 May 2024 for PC via Steam, followed by PS4 and PS5 sometime during the late part of this year.
