The new PC 2D fighting game, Idol Showdown, from Besto Games has achieved a remarkable milestone almost a year since its release.

The game has been downloaded more than 1,000,000+ times and has reached an all-time high of 10,901 players on Steam. Furthermore, Idol Showdown has garnered 5,029 very positive reviews, with players expressing their appreciation for various aspects of the game. Some players have praised the game for its absence of microtransactions, while others have expressed frustration regarding the difficulty of the final boss in the arcade mode.
Launched in May 2023, Idol Showdown features popular engaging in 2-out-of-3 battles, each with their own special abilities that align with their personalities. The game’s fighting mechanics and style take inspiration from both Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Guilty Gear, incorporating features such as auto-combos and the option to select one Assist character to perform special assist attacks and buffs.
