Here’s Your First Look At The Dead Cells Animated Series (In French), Coming This June

2D action platformer roguelike title Dead Cells is getting an animated series, and it’s slated for next month, under the title Dead Cells: Immortalis.
Made by French studio Bobbypills (of Captain Laserhawk fame) and co-produced by French streaming service ADN, as well as directed by Gaspard Sumeire, the French-language series adaptation will consist of 10 7-minute episodes featuring the misadventures of the Dead Cells flame-headed Chosen One and the young guardian Laure Esposito. The show’s art style and storytelling seem to lean towards the goofier side of the games.
“On a cursed island, ravaged by a strange plague known as the Evil, a king orders his alchemists to develop a cure to save his people. But this cure turns the inhabitants into monsters! The king then decides to create an army using this dangerous elixir, but the situation quickly spirals out of control…
A prophecy announces the arrival of an immortal hero, destined to bring peace by eliminating the Demon King, instigator of this chaos. Laure Esposito, young guardian of the order of truth, must find this flame-headed chosen one to save the world from destruction. Good luck to her, because finding the cure for Unhappiness – the chosen one doesn’t care. Bring peace? Above all, he wants us to screw it over him!”

Dead Cells: Immortalis’ first 5 episodes will be out on 19 June, followed by the remaining 5 episodes on 26 June. An English version of the show has yet to be announced.
