Helldivers 2 Is Currently Not Available In These Southeast Asian Countries
[Update 6/5/2024] Sony has cancelled its 6 May update, meaning you don’t need to link a PSN account with your Steam account for Helldivers 2. Original report is below for your reference.
Helldivers fans — we’ve heard your feedback on the Helldivers 2 account linking update. The May 6 update, which would have required Steam and PlayStation Network account linking for new players and for current players beginning May 30, will not be moving forward.
We’re still…

Original story
The Helldivers 2 kerfuffle is still ongoing due to Sony’s recent announcement.
Following the recent news about scifi PvE shooter Helldivers 2 requiring a PlayStation Network sign-in requirement (and also linking with your Steam account), the game is no longer purchasable in 177 countries where PSN is unavailable (via SteamDB). In our neck of the Southeast Asian woods, these include:
- Cambodia
- Vietnam
- Brunei Darussalam
- The Philippines
For those in Japan, the game has a separate package and it’s still available albeit not the global version. Check the picture below for the rest of the 177 countries that are Helldiver 2-less.

This game has now received 215,000 negative reviews. pic.twitter.com/jJrb9QFafR

We’ll be sure to update this news if the situation changes, but for now, we feel the negative reviews will keep piling up until developer Arrowhead Game Studios and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment change their mind. At this point in writing, the game has accumulated over 320,000 negative reviews on Steam.
