Hi-Fi Rush 2 Was Being Planned By Tango Gameworks Before Getting Shut Down

It’s been a crazy couple of days for the games industry, ever since it was revealed that Microsoft has shut down several studios, including Hi-Fi Rush developer Tango Gameworks. Now, a new piece of information has been unveiled, which makes it all even more tragic in hindsight and in light of what could have been.

A new report by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has given us more juicy details about what happened behind the scenes of Microsoft’s closure of the studios. However, one particular detail will surely make many gamers around the world angry, as it has come to light that Tango Gameworks was in the process of pitching a sequel to Hi-Fi Rush.

Now that Tango Gameworks is no more, Hi-Fi Rush 2 will likely never happen, and we all know who to blame for that.

If millions of players and having just released on PS5 not being enough, then what is?

2024 has been an extremely bad year, perhaps one of the worst in recent memory, for those working in the games industry. Earlier this year, more than 6,00o workers in the games industry were laid off, including a whopping 1900 from Xbox and Activision Blizzard alone. Other studios, like Until Dawn developer Supermassive Games and more, have also reported big layoffs.
