Hi-Fi Rush Proceeds with Physical Edition Amidst Tango Gameworks Closure

Despite the recent news of Tango Gameworks’ closure, the rhythm-based action game Hi-Fi Rush is still getting a physical edition. Limited Run Games had previously announced plans to release a physical edition, and fans were concerned about its cancellation.

However, Limited Run has now reassured fans that the physical release is still happening. However, no other information has been revealed such as the release date.

Tango Gameworks has further confirmed the news by tweeting that they are actively working with Limited Run Games to release the physical edition of Hi-Fi Rush. This announcement came alongside the news that the studio will be finalizing a patch to address some minor issues in the game. The details of this patch will be announced later today.

In February, Limited Run Games and Tango Gameworks announced that a physical edition of Hi-Fi Rush will be available on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. This news follows a previous announcement that Hi-Fi Rush will be among a select few former Xbox exclusives making their debuts on other platforms this year.

However, an unfortunate turn of events unfolded, with the recent scrutiny of Microsoft’s decision to close four Bethesda Studios, including Tango Gameworks and Arkane Austin. This news has sparked further reports, shedding light on additional aspects. Among these, it has been revealed that Tango Gameworks had proposed a sequel to Hi-Fi Rush, prior to its closure. These revelations have intensified concerns about Microsoft’s decision-making and the fate of its acquired studios.

Hi-Fi Rush is still available on the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, albeit with a caveat. The game is accompanied by licensed music, which presents the risk of it being delisted at some point. Although there is no specific date for when preorders will begin, Limited Run Games’ upcoming release is undoubtedly the best way to ensure the preservation of Hi-Fi Rush.
