Netflix Renews 3 Body Problem For Season 2 & New Episodes

Netflix has announced that they have renewed the sci-fi series 3 Body Problems for more episodes and seasons. The next episodes will be created, executive produced, and written by the returning trio of David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and Alexander Woo.

Emmy Award-winning powerhouse storytellers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have also re-upped their multi-year deal to write, produce and direct new series and films exclusively at Netflix. In addition to the continuation of 3 Body Problem, they are currently working on the recently announced series Death by Lightning.

Emmy-nominated Alexander Woo has an overall deal with Netflix and is set to return as Co-Creator, Executive Producer, and Writer on 3 Body Problem.

David Benioff, D.B. Weiss and Alexander Woo said:

The sci-fi drama tells the story of humanity’s first contact with an alien civilization. It follows a young woman, whose fateful decision in 1960s China reverberates across space and time into the present day. When the laws of nature inexplicably unravel before their eyes, a close-knit group of brilliant scientists join forces with an unflinching detective to confront the greatest threat in humanity’s history.

3 Body Problem Season 1 cast included Jovan Adepo, John Bradley, Liam Cunningham, Eiza González, Jess Hong, Marlo Kelly, Alex Sharp, Sea Shimooka, Zine Tseng, Saamer Usmani, Benedict Wong, Jonathan Pryce, Rosalind Chao, Ben Schnetzer and Eve Ridley.

It’s an adaptation of Liu Cixin’s award-winning Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy. 3 Body Problem Season 1 premiered on 21 March 2024.
