V Rising: Everything You Need To Know About Soul Shards

Soul Shards are something you probably don’t know about if you are new to V Rising, but it is something YOU SHOULD! This is especially true if you are on a PvP server. Souls shards are now completely different than what it was when it was in Early Access. There are now only 4 shards on EACH map. It’s not easy to get these shards, but let me walk you through it.

WHERE TO GET SOUL SHARDS

First, you will need to craft an Eye of Twilight. This will mark all the Soul Shards on the map. If you haven’t gotten it just yet, keep progressing your main story quest and you will unlock it eventually. You will need to be a higher level before you can collect the shards, so don’t worry too much about it. You are recommended to be at 86 before you start going for these. Four of these colourful icons will appear on the map showing you where they are.

Now to get these shards, you will need to actually kill some bosses. One of these bosses also happens to be the game’s final bosses and is your final objective on the main quest. There are all the bosses holding the shards:

  • Magenta Soul Shard (Chaos Magic) – Talzur Winged Horror (Level 86)
  • Green Soul Shard (Unholy Magic) – Solarus the Immaculate (Level 86)
  • Yellow Soul Shard (Storm Magic) – Adam the Firstborn (Level 88)
  • Red Soul Shard (Blood Magic) – Dracula the Immortal King (Level 90)

Each only drops one shard by default no matter how many times you kill them. A level 26-30 Ancestral Weapon is recommended to kill these bosses. Unless you really are some GIGACHAD, go for it!

SOUL SHARDS MECHANICS

The Soul Shards will occupy the Amulet slot and you can only equip one at a time. Just remember that if you are indeed using one of these, you cannot use your Bat Form! To store your lovely soul shards, you will need a special pedestal for them. You can store them here safely so you can assume your Bat Form once again. On a PvP server, these shards are lootable, so be careful when you’re out and about.
