Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night announces new Retro-Style DLC

Publisher 505 Games and developer ArtPlay have announced that their metroidvania Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will receive a new story DLC titled “Classic II: Dominique’s Curse,” which is set to roll out soon across all platforms.
This expansion brings to life the nostalgia of Classic Mode, but with an expansive new map, a host of new enemies, and an engaging storyline that picks up after the events of the original game.
In Dominique’s Curse, players will explore a vast new territory, embarking on a quest for the power of the demon Bael. The map promises to be expansive, filled with more enemies than seen in the game’s standard Classic mode. Dominique finds herself banished to Limbo, needing to steal Bael’s power if she seeks to escape to the mortal realm and perform vengeance.
Players will have the opportunity to interact with demons to guide their journey and collect powerful abilities and artifacts to bolster their fighting prowess. But beware – these same demons turn hostile with the changing of the moon.
Echoing the essence of the ‘Classic mode,’ this DLC is heavily inspired by the iconic 8-bit Castlevania titles, featuring retro aesthetics and a simplified move set.
Further details on Classic II: Dominique’s Curse will be disclosed on the day of its release. The launch is scheduled for 11 June 2024 at 8:00 AM (PDT) / 11:00 PM (GMT+8). Players will need to have the base game to access this content.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
