Microsoft Issues Refunds for Cancelled Redfall DLC

Microsoft has begun refunding players who purchased the cancelled Redfall DLC. The content, originally included in the Bite Back Edition or available separately for $26.99, featured the Redfall Hero Pass. This pass was set to offer two additional heroes with unique abilities and gameplay, among other features.

The DLC was cancelled after Redfall received a disappointing reception and Microsoft decided to close Arkane Austin, the game’s developer. Speaking of which, you can check out our review on Redfall.

Reports from Windows Central indicate that Microsoft is processing full refunds for the DLC on both Xbox and Steam, with refunds being issued in waves. Players who purchased a physical copy of the Redfall Bite Back Edition can contact Bethesda customer support to request a refund.

The final update for Redfall was released in late May. This update added a long-awaited offline mode to the vampire shooter and introduced a single-player pause feature. Additionally, it included a new reputation system called Community Standing and new boss-focused Nests featuring modified vampires.

“We’re thankful for the millions of players who have joined us,” stated the game’s developer at the time. “From everyone at Arkane Austin, thank you for playing our games and loving our worlds. It’s been an honor to deliver these experiences to you.”
