Street Fighter Movie Gets New 2026 Release Window
The upcoming Legendary-produced live-action Street Fighter movie has landed a concrete release date and year.
According to Legendary and the game’s publisher & maker Capcom, the newest Street Fighter movie adaptation will be out on 20 March 2026. Previously, we reported that the movie’s directors are out of the project, with Legendary now looking for a new one (or more).
Street Fighter has seen two live-action adaptations previously: one in 1994 starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia, and one in 2009 called Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. Both were terrible, but the 1994 one was campy and was full of “so bad it’s good” flavour. However, the 1994 Street Fighter 2 anime movie is regarded as one of the best early game-to-film adaptations that still holds the test of time. And with video game movies and TV show adaptations on a winning streak, this Street Fighter film may have potential.
In related news, M.Bison makes his return in Street Fighter 6 after being dead in Street Fighter 5. He’s now a new character in the roster via the Season 2 DLC pack, which will eventually add in Street Fighter 3’s capoera fighter Elena and two Fatal Fury characters.
