Surprise! Godzilla Minus One Is Now Available On Netflix Malaysia

Surprise! Just as we enter the month of June 2024, Netflix Malaysia has quietly added Godzilla Minus One to its library, making the highly-anticipated movie now available to watch legally in Malaysia for the first time.

Godzilla Minus One originally premiered in Japan on 3 November 2023 and in the US on 1 December 2023, but it hasn’t been released in Malaysia and other Southeast Asian countries. There have been many rumours and much speculation on the matter, but earlier this year, local Malaysian cinema chain GSC Cinemas confirmed the reason why Godzilla Minus One hasn’t been released in Malaysia and the rest of Southeast Asia.

Godzilla Minus One is the 30th live-action film in Toho’s long-running kaiju franchise after 2016’s Shin Godzilla. It is notable for being the first Godzilla movie in history to win an Oscar; it won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects at the 96th Academy Awards in March 2024.
