Fable Developer Playground Games Expands With Third Studio

UK developer Playground Games, famous for their Forza Horizon series and currently involved in the 2025 Fable reboot, has expanded its operations to include three studios in Leamington Spa. This significant growth highlights the company’s rising influence in the gaming industry.

According to a recent LinkedIn update, Playground Games stated, “Today, Playground has three world-class studios in Leamington Spa. In our original HQ, we continue to support and grow the huge, vibrant Horizon community. In our new studios on the other side of town, we are excited to be developing Fable, a new beginning for the legendary franchise.”

However, this update contrasts with information on the official Playground Games website, which still lists only two studios: “Today, Playground has two world-class studios in Leamington Spa. In our original HQ, we continue to support and grow the huge, vibrant Horizon community. In our new studio on the other side of town, we are excited to be developing Fable, a new beginning for the legendary franchise.”

Details about the third studio’s focus and staffing remain undisclosed, adding an element of intrigue to the company’s expansion.

In related news, Xbox recently announced that the highly anticipated Fable will launch in 2025 and will be available on Game Pass for both Xbox and PC on release day. Additionally, Playground Games has confirmed a collaboration with Eidos Montreal, known for their 2021 hit Guardians of the Galaxy, to co-develop Fable.

These developments underscore Playground Games’ growing reputation as a premier game developer, now with an expanded presence in Leamington Spa.
