PlayStation Portal Launches In Malaysia & Southeast Asia This October; Find Out How Much & Where It’s Selling

After being out for so long in other countries, Malaysia and Southeast Asia can finally taste remote portable play via their PlayStation 5s later in 2024.

Sony PlayStation Asia has announced that the PlayStation Portal will be out in Southeast Asia on 9 October in the following SEA countries with the following prices:

  • Malaysia: RM999
  • Singapore: S$295.50
  • Indonesia: IDR3,599,000
  • Thailand: THB7,790

For those who don’t know, the PlayStation Portal lets you remotely play your PS5/PS4 games via your PlayStation 5 using the power of Wi-Fi. Using the PS5 you have as an anchor, you can play whatever games anywhere in your household and within a good distance be it upstairs your bedroom, or in the same living room while you’re letting your family and loved ones watch television where your PS5 is docked at.

“PlayStation Portal remote player brings the PS5 experience to the palm of your hand. It includes the key features of the DualSense wireless controller, including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback*. The vibrant 8-inch LCD screen is capable of 1080p resolution at 60fps, providing a high definition visual experience that’s expected from the high quality games created by world-class developers.

PlayStation Portal is the perfect device for gamers in households where they might need to share their living room TV or simply want to play PS5 games in another room of the house. PlayStation Portal will connect remotely to your PS5 over Wi-Fi**, so you’ll be able to swiftly jump from playing on your PS5 to your PlayStation Portal. PlayStation Portal can play supported games that are installed on your PS5 console and use the Dualsense controller. It also includes a 3.5mm audio jack for wired audio.”

Find out more info about the device here.

Pre-orders start on 5th August. Here’s the list of local retailers in Malaysia (and SEA) who can take your pre-orders.
