Yacht Club Games, the creators of the beloved Shovel Knight series, recently marked the 10th anniversary of the game. As part of the celebration, they teased more information about their upcoming action-adventure game Mina the Hollower, promising a “grand gameplay reveal in the near future.”
Coinciding with this announcement, a new placeholder page for Mina the Hollower has appeared on the PlayStation Network listing, indicating that the game’s release date is “to be determined.” This often suggests that an official announcement or reveal may be imminent. Plus, we can confirm that the game will make its debut on PS4 and PS5 as well as PC via Steam.
In Mina the Hollower, players control Mina, a renowned Hollower who embarked on a daring quest to save a cursed island. Armed with the ability to burrow beneath hazards, defeat monsters with a whip, and equip an array of sidearms and trinkets, players will uncover a bone-chilling yet heartwarming tale steeped in Victorian Gothic horror. The game features pixel-perfect graphics, beastly bosses, and an electrifying MSX-style soundtrack by chiptune virtuoso, Jake Kaufman.
Players get to experience a sprawling, dark world teeming with secrets, challenging battles, and interconnected level design. Along the way, they’ll encounter a host of interesting characters, unravel secrets in diverse locales, and unravel the pervasive darkness in Mina the Hollower.
While further details are yet to be revealed, interested players can now wishlist the game on the PlayStation Store.
