Classic 90s JRPG Lunar Series Gets Remastered This April
If you were a fan of JRPGs in the 90s and had money to spend, you probably owned a Sega CD and played both Lunar: Silver Star Story and Lunar: Eternal Blue. Failing that, you waited a few more years and played the PlayStation ports instead which featured better graphics, better anime cutscenes, reworked soundtracks, and better voice acting.
Of course, you will have trouble finding old copies of these games right now, so luckily GungHo Online Entertainment has you covered. The publisher and rights owner of the Lunar series will be releasing a Lunar Remastered Collection, which has both Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar: Eternal Blue Complete. You can play them in their original PS1 forms or in remastered form that feature wide-screen support, revamped PS1 pixel art, and remastered anime cutscenes.
Check out the features and key art below. Lunar Remastered Collection will be out on 18 April for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. I sure do hope the Working Designs English localization is preserved, because it’s probably one of the major highlights of the PS1 titles.
