Two Major PlayStation Franchises Are Getting Live-Action Movies

During the Sony CES 2025 presentation, PlayStation Productions and Sony Pictures announced that both Helldivers and Horizon Zero Dawn will be getting live-action movie adaptations.

Both are currently in the works, but no other details or information were revealed, including the cast or release windows.

Developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by PlayStation, Helldivers 2 is a third-person squad-based shooter that sees the elite forces of the Helldivers battling to win an intergalactic struggle to rid the galaxy of the rising alien threats. From a 3rd person perspective, players use a variety of weapons (pistols, machine guns, flamethrowers) and stratagems (turrets, airstrikes, etc.) to shoot and kill the alien threats. It is available on PS5 and PC

Developed by Guerrilla Games, Horizon Zero Dawn was launched back in 2017 and is now available on PS4, PS5, and PC. It later received a sequel in 2022, Horizon Forbidden West and a spinoff LEGO game, LEGO Horizon Adventures.
