Xbox’s Biggest Franchise Might Finally Come To PlayStation AND Nintendo In 2025
Yes, we’re talking about Halo.
According to gaming insider NateTheHate, Halo The Master Chief Collection is coming to PS5 and the Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2025.
However, this is from a so-called ‘insider’ so we’ll have to take this with a grain of salt right now, at least until it’s officially confirmed or denied by Xbox or Microsoft.
Halo is to Xbox what Mario is to Nintendo. If this turns out to be true, it will be big, a game-changer in the games industry.
Halo The Master Chief Collection includes the first six main instalments in the Halo franchise released between 2001 and 2012, originally developed by Bungie and 343 Industries. It was originally released for Xbox One in November 2014, and later on PC as well.
In other related news, in October 2024, 343 Industries revealed that they were working on the next Halo game, which will be powered by Unreal Engine 5.
Is This A Big Deal?
It could be. Starting February 2024, Xbox brought previous exclusive games Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, and Grounded onto PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. Sea of Thieves has done particularly well on the PlayStation, selling past a million copies since its April 2024 launch. Having more people on-board Halo games on other platforms could be the windfall Xbox needs to pay off its current debt from all the acquisitions they’ve done.
