Astro Bot Gets Five Brutal New Levels & A PS5 Pro Boost
By Lewis Larcombe|February 14, 2025|0 Comment
Brace yourself, because Astro Bot is cranking up the difficulty with five brand-new levels and a PlayStation 5 Pro update, all rolling out starting today.
Developer Team Asobi has unveiled the Vicious Void Galaxy, a fresh batch of punishing platforming challenges, dropping weekly like a relentless gauntlet:
Alongside these tricky new trials, Astro Bot is also getting a PS5 Pro patch, which will ensure it stays crisp and smooth at 60 FPS while hitting peak resolution.
Creative director Nicolas Doucet confirmed that one of these upcoming levels appeared sneaky at the PlayStation XP Tournament Final in London last month. Now, the rest of us can suffer—er, enjoy—the full challenge.
Unlike the festive stroll that was Winter Wonder, this update is designed to put your platforming reflexes to the ultimate test. But it’s not all pain and suffering—each stage hides a Special Bot waiting to be rescued. Beat the level, and you’ll unlock Time Attack mode with online rankings, giving you a fresh reason to chase leaderboard glory.
Just one catch—you’ll need to have finished the main game to access these. So if you’ve been slacking, it’s time to dust off your DualSense and get back in the game.
In other news, PlayStation’s president hinted at more family-friendly titles in the future, thanks to Astro Bot’s success. But let’s be real—these new levels aren’t exactly a walk in the park.
