Take-Two Insists GTA 6 Is Still On Track For Original Release Window
According to the company’s latest financial reports, publisher Take-Two Interactive is still insisting that GTA 6 will launch sometime in fall 2025.
Speaking with Variety, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick said:
“We’ve announced a pretty narrow window. So I think our view is that right now, that’s fine. And then when it’s appropriate, of course, Rockstar is going to have more to say.”
Zelnick also stated in the report:
“Looking ahead, this calendar year is shaping up to be one of the strongest ever for Take-Two, as we plan to launch Sid Meier’s Civilization VII on February 11th, Mafia: The Old Country in the Summer, Grand Theft Auto VI in the Fall, and Borderlands 4.
We continue to invest prudently in our development pipeline and remain confident in Zynga’s potential to create new mobile forever franchises as demonstrated by their ongoing success with Match Factory.
As we continue to deliver hits, we remain highly confident that we will achieve sequential increases in, and record levels of, Net Bookings in Fiscal 2026 and 2027.”
Rockstar Games officially revealed GTA in December 2023, with the trailer becoming the most-viewed video game reveal on YouTube within 24 hours. Set in modern-day Leonida, a fictionalized version of Florida, players will control Lucia and an unnamed male that some fans speculate is named Jason.
GTA 6 is slated to launch for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC sometime in fall 2025.
