Thailand Game Show Gets Prominent New Partner To Form Combined Gaming Event This October

Folks who plan to go to Thailand Game Show usually have to pick between this and Gamescom Asia, which takes place in Singapore. It’s a tough choice back then, but not one you have to make anymore.

Why? Because for the first time, these two organizations will be joining forces Voltron-style for one big gaming event at the tail end of the year. The result? Gamescom Asia X Thailand Game Show, a combination of fun and business in gaming and new digital experiences in Southeast Asia.

Here is the official press blurb from Gamescom organizers Koelnmesse:

“This partnership is a game-changer for the region’s games industry. gamescom asia’s success has been built on a solid foundation in Singapore, where it has flourished since its inception in 2021, positioning Southeast Asia as a hub for gaming innovation. By joining forces with Thailand Game Show, we are unlocking unprecedented opportunities to connect global video game players with one of the world’s most vibrant and passionate gaming communities. With its rich culture and expanding gaming ecosystem, Bangkok is the ideal stage for this exciting next chapter.

And here’s one from Thailand Game Show founder Pongsuk Hiranprueck:

“This historic collaboration presents tremendous opportunities for gamers and developers in Thailand, marking a significant leap forward for our gaming industry. With strong governmental support and cooperation, we are solidifying Thailand’s position as a premier gaming hub in the Asian region. We are grateful for gamescom asia recognising Thailand’s potential, and together, we will write a new chapter in Thailand’s gaming history that will elevate our industry to unprecedented heights. This partnership will build on what we have been doing for the past 18 years.”

Here are the details of the event:

Venue: Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand
Date: 16-19 October (business area: 16-17 October, entertainment area: 17-19 October)

Yes, the event will have both business and public days in the Land of Smiles. The event will have strategic support from key government bodies in Thailand like depa (Thailand’s version of MDEC) and Thailand Game Software Industry Association.

While it sucks that Singapore does not have a prominent gaming event, at least businessfolks, media, and gamers do not have to choose between the two anymore. For more on Thailand Game Show, check out our previous video coverages of the event.
