Biohazard Legends Are Heading To KL – And Yes, There Will Be Jill Sandwiches

If you grew up in the ’90s, chances are your introduction to survival horror was a game that taught you three things: doors are terrifying, ink ribbons are sacred, and Jill sandwiches are apparently a delicacy. Well, good news – the original Resident Evil cast is shambling their way to Kuala Lumpur for Asia Pop Con 2025, and no, this isn’t a drill.

Charlie Kraslavsky – yes, the live-action Chris Redfield before he started punching boulders – has officially confirmed via his Facebook page that he, Greg Smith, and Eric Pirius will all be making their way to Malaysia this 8–9 November. And if that trio of names doesn’t immediately make your inner PS1 enthusiast squeal with joy, then you probably didn’t spend your childhood navigating tank controls while getting chased by zombie dogs.

Here’s what Charlie had to say:

“I am thrilled to announce that I will be appearing as a special guest alongside Greg V Smith, and Eric Pirius at this year’s Asia Pop Con November 8-9 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! This is a rare opportunity to come and meet all three of us! We will have autographed merchandise and photo ops available. See you there! I hear they have really yummy Jill Sandwiches in Malaysia ?”

If that last bit about sandwiches doesn’t spark at least one nostalgic neuron, please hand in your S.T.A.R.S. badge on the way out.

Now, if you were lucky enough to attend last year’s Asia Pop Con, you’d remember they pulled in none other than David Hayter – the voice behind Solid Snake himself. And yes, in case you missed it, my colleagues Alleef, Alisha, and I had the privilege of interviewing the man, the myth, the gravelly-voiced legend himself. You can check out our chat with him right here – trust me, it’s codec-call worthy.

This year’s line-up is clearly gunning to keep the nostalgia alive and well, and from the sound of things, founder Shahril Anuar Ismail is keen on keeping the bar just as high:

“Tahun lepas DBH, tahun nie Insya Allah something new. As always Asia Pop Con will try our best to bring great content from the Pop-Culture Industry for all of you enthusiasts and fans alike. Onwards and beyond.”

Translation? We’re in for another biohazardous good time.

So, whether you’re looking to relive your survival horror glory days, meet the faces behind the iconic voice lines, or just really want a selfie with the man who once nearly became a sandwich – Asia Pop Con 2025 is shaping up to be unmissable.

Get ready, Kuala Lumpur. Evil may be resident, but this time, it’s coming as a guest.
