If your wish for an epic animated action flick involves seeing Korean pop stars beating the s*** out of Korean boy band demons and their groupies, Netflix has you covered.

The streaming site has announced a new animated film called KPop Demon Hunters, and it’s about, well, female Kpop stars slaying demons while going through the hustle and bustle of pop star life. KPop superstars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey use their secret identities as badass demon hunters to protect their fans from an ever-present supernatural threat. Together, they must face their biggest enemy yet – an irresistible rival boy band of demons in disguise.

The film stars Arden Cho, Ahn Hyo-seop, May Hong, and Ji-young Yoo, as well as features music from Teddy Park, 24, Danny Chung, IDO, Vince, KUSH , DOMINSUK of THEBLACKLABEL, and loads more.

The film is directed and written by Maggie Kang; here’s her quote on the upcoming project:

“I have been a fan of these incredible artists and their work for many years, so it’s a dream come true to have original songs written and produced for our film by legendary talent such as THEBLACKLABEL. I also couldn’t be more thrilled about our collaboration with Jeongyeon, Jihyo and Chaeyoung of TWICE. It really legitimizes our film and songs in the K-pop world. It’s proof that we achieved what we set out to do, which is make a real K-Pop group.”

The film will be streaming on Netflix on 20th June. With work and production done by Sony Pictures Animation (Cloudy With A Chance of Meatball, Spiderverse films), it’ll at least be quite a looker that animates well to flesh out its bats*** insane premise.
