This New Indian-Made Adventure Game Will Tackle Harrowing Human Trafficking Problems

The gaming industry and its circle definitely needs more story-based games that raise hard-hitting social commentary on world problems. One of them is on human trafficking, and developer UnderDOGS Studio will be shedding awareness on that problem with its new game.

The title is called Mukti and it’s an adventure game slated for PlayStation 5 and PC. The game is made as part of the Sony India Hero Project.

You play as a young woman named Arya, who is searching for her grandfather in a sprawling museum as you piece together a mystery that eventually bring out terrible truths behind the scourge of human trafficking going on in the game’s narrative.

“As an indie studio from India, every wishlist counts,” says Mukti Game Director and underDOGS Studio founder and CEO Vaibhav Chavan. “It tells the world that there’s a growing hunger for Indian stories told through high-quality games. It pushes boundaries and opens doors, not just for Mukti, but for a whole generation of Indian developers. So if the teaser stirs something in you, if you believe in bold stories, fresh voices, and unforgettable adventures — please hit that wishlist button today.

Based on the gameplay trailer below, the title and aesthetics look unique and could be that story-based title that could put India on the map. I do hope they find a way to bring up the game’s central themes in a unique and impactful light.

No release date has been announced for Mukti.
