Battlefield Is Making A Comeback, With EA Promising A Release Window & Reveal This Summer

Despite the top heads of developer DICE leaving for independence, Electronic Arts is still trucking with the developer’s landmark Battlefield multiplayer shooter series.

EA has confirmed that it will release the next Battlefield game by March 2026. A full reveal of the game will take place this summer, most likely around June and July since that’s the sort of mid-year period new titles get revealed.

EA CEO Andrew Wilson said during a financial results investor meeting that the new multiplayer military shooter will be a “pivotal step in delivering on our next generation of blockbuster entertainment”. This release window might be sound, as the game has been in close testing since March of this year. If you’re interested in shaping the next Battlefield, EA is looking for more players to sign up from all over Europe and Asia. Here’s what you can expect:

“Alongside testing new content, we’ll continue to iterate on our initial focus areas, such as balancing the different weapon archetypes and damage values, as well as movement and combat pacing mechanics. Destruction also remains an ongoing topic across our play sessions. We’ll continue to test destructible objects across a variety of maps and fine-tune damage levels of surfaces. Following Community Updates on gunplay and destruction, we’ll be back in the future to talk more about classes and the all-out warfare experience.”

Given the flop that was Battlefield 2042, EA is going to be more transparent with the development of the next Battlefield game.
