Ex-Nippon Ichi CEO & Disgaea Creator Is Publishing A New Arc System Works Speedrunning RPG

The recent Arc System Works showcase announced a slew of new titles, one of them being a new in-house made action title. The other? A new RPG from an ex-Nippon Ichi head.

That’s right: ex-Nippon Ichi Software president Sohei Niikawa, also the one who spearheaded the Disgaea series, has formed a new company called Superniche. This new venture is teaming up with developer Drecom and Arc System Works to announced Demon’s Night Fever, a new RPG.

Here’s what Niikawa had to say about the title, which is a “Raising Simulation Speedrunning RPG”.

“The concept of this game is to embrace being evil. This game lets you wildly enjoy all sorts of wickedness. There is a game I made in the past which I am going to overcome with this game.

Now, I will tell you the genre of this game—which is very very long—are you ready? ‘Enemies? Allies? Kill Kill Kill! The More You Die the Stronger You Become! Raising Simulation Speedrunning RPG.’ Got it? I know you feel it’s nonsense and I feel the same when saying it myself, but that’s how outrageous this game is, so we hope you look forward to it.

I haven’t brought any game footage today, but the development is already in its final stage and we’re actually in crunch time. We’re about to release an incomparable and extraordinary game. Please get ready for it check it out!”

Check out the overview and trailer below. Demon’s Night Fever will be out in 2026; no platforms have been announced yet.
