Here’s Your First Gameplay Look At Witcher 4 Using Unreal Engine 5
Today’s State of Unreal 2025 presentation boasts a ton of new additions to Unreal Engine 5, courtesy of Epic Games. We got a peek at Metahuman in action, a demo of the engine that powered the upcoming Hulu film Predator: Killer of Killers, and even have some mobile games like Infinity Nikki and Mongil: Star Dive being talked about on-stage.
But most importantly, the show started out with a banger of an intro: a look at the upcoming CD Projekt RED action RPG The Witcher 4. Check out the footage below:
We get our first look of gameplay footage on a PlayStation 5 in 60fps using the updated Unreal Engine 5 (their words, not ours). This demo features Ciri with her Witcher swords & gear, her horse, and her checking out a nearby town in the region of Kovir while also getting a sneak peek at a flying beast that she will eventually fight when CD Projekt has that ready in the far future. Personally, the current Unreal Engine 5 won’t run it like how it would in the footage above, but perhaps Epic Games’ updates for the engine might remedy that.
The Witcher 4 has no release date or year at this point in time. If it’s anything like the last game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, it’ll be out for PC and consoles.
