Two New Avatar Games Are Coming, the Element Bending Kind
Two games based on the popular Nickelodeon cartoon, Avatar the Last Airbender are in development, one of them being an RPG and the other being an MMORPG (via Avatar News).
Avatar fans are in for a treat, as they’ll be able to step into the Avatar universe and hurl their own elements pretty soon. One of the games that are currently in development will be an RPG on consoles, being set during Aang’s era. This great news comes with some caveats though, as the bad news is that our favourite characters will be recast with different voices, with new Asian and Indigenous voice actors, Nickelodeon touting them as “voice matches†of the originals. The setting of the game could be during Aang’s adulthood, something that we have seen very little of so a change in voice cast may be the right move.
The other game will be an MMORPG set in the Avatar universe, which is something that sounds like a perfect fit. Details on the game are scarce but imagine being able to create your own personal character and be able to pick an element of your choice. Plus, allegiance to specific nations could translate perfectly into guilds which are a popular mechanic in MMOs. This is the kind of game that the Avatar universe was made for and is something that fans have been begging for years.
These two games have been secretly in development for some time, so expect news or a look into what the game looks like pretty soon.
