Gatekeeping Sim Game Who is Zombie Launches Today

Who is Zombie, a visual novel styled, gatekeeping zombie game set in the year 2033 launches today for the Nintendo Switch and on Steam.

Who is Zombie puts you in the shoes of inspector protagonist, Aiden, who is pressed for time in determining which of the hordes of people seeking shelter has been infected with the zombie virus and which should be let inside. Imagine the game Papers Please, but set in a zombie apocalypse.

In the game, players will have to study the profiles of the citizens seeking shelter and ask the right questions to determine if the person in question has been infected or not. Since these people’s lives are on the line, players will need to carefully check the data given to them and watch for symptoms of the zombie virus, making sure they don’t turn away a survivor who could have been saved or accidentally bring in that one person who always hides their zombie bite.

Judging conditions will change and multiply as the days pass by, changing it up for the core gameplay loop while looking out for special zombie variants, making your job as inspector increasingly difficult with each day.

Gatekeeping won’t be what you only do as events involving drama taking place within the walls of the shelter will occur, putting their personal values and judgment skills to the test in a visual novel style format. The game contains multiple endings depending on how you navigate your job but aside from the story mode, the survival mode will put players through random obstacles and judging conditions for those wanting a more arcade-y experience.

The game is available for Nintendo Switch and Steam for RM21.50, but you can snag a 10% discount that will last until the 2nd of March.
