[Report] PlayStation Spartacus Monthly Games Service Pricing Revealed

PlayStation is reportedly planning to overhaul PlayStation Plus services, merging it with PlayStation Now into one tiered service at various prices called PlayStation Spartacus. It’s essentially like Xbox Game Pass but for PlayStation games.

A GamesBeat report has revealed the PS Spartacus pricing model. It will be divided into different tiers as follows:

  • PlayStation Spartacus Tier 1/PS+ Essential (US$10): Monthly games.
  • PlayStation Spartacus Tier 2/PS+ Extra (US$13): Monthly games, PS Now’s downloadable games catalogue.
  • PlayStation Spartacus Tier 3/PS+ Premium (US$16): Monthly games, the game catalogue, cloud streaming, a collection of “classic” games and “game trials.”

Note that all this comes with online play. If you want everything, you’ll want to pay US$16 monthly for the whole shebang. Of course, the service is missing a few key things to make it competitive to Xbox and PC Game Pass:

  • Day One launch PlayStation exclusive games on any tier of the service.
  • PC copies of games on the Spartacus service, provided they have one.

Keep in mind that things and pricing may change since this is just a report and nothing official from PlayStation. Until the company clarifies the service and what it truly offers, it needs to up their ante if it even hopes to compete with Xbox Game Pass.
