Kraven The Hunter Movie Casts West Side Story Star As Calypso

The upcoming Kraven The Hunter movie from Sony Pictures and Marvel will be adding a recent SAG Awards winner into its cast.

Ariana DeBose, who stars in West Side Story as Anita, will be in Kraven The Hunter starring as Calypso according to sources at Deadline.

In Marvel lore, Calypso is a voodoo priestess who fights Spider-Man on occasion and also partners up with Kraven. As well as be his lover at times being that she’s an 80s and 90s comic book female villain. Just look at her artwork below and tell me she’s from a less flashy age of comics.

Kraven The Hunter stars Aaron Taylor Johnson as the title character. J.C Chandor is directing the picture with Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach handling the film’s production. It’ll be out 13 January 2023.
