New Live A Live Trailers Show Off Four More Stories

Square Enix has unveiled four more trailers showcasing the Live A Live JRPG remake’s HD 2D-rezzed gameplay and story bits.

The new trailers are for the stories Twilight of Edo Japan (ninja), Wild West (cowboy setting), Near Future (sci-fi and mechas), and Middle Ages (fantasy). They all look really amazing and are doing the HD 2D moniker justice, especially the mecha bits that are teased in Flow.

The Live A Live livestream that happened hours ago also showcased a ton of gameplay from the remake. The scenarios previewed include The Strongest and Secret Order.

The Live A Live remake will be out exclusively for Nintendo Switch on 22nd July. The JRPG features eight protagonists in different timelines and eras, with a final ninth chapter to tie it all together. Basically, it was the game that influenced other titles like Saga Frontier and Octopath Traveler. It also was the title that made composer Yoko Shimomura a household name, not Kingdom Hearts. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
