Time Bandits, Omen, & Tron Actor David Warner Has Died
David Warner, an actor who has starred in films like Titanic, Omen, and Tron, has died. He was 80.
The actor passed away in Denville Hall due to a cancer-related illness. He is survived by his partner Lisa Bowerman, his son Luke and daughter-in-law Sarah, good friend Jane Spencer Prior, first wife Harriet Evans, and “his many gold dust friends”.
His family shared the news with “overwhelmingly heavy heart(s)”.
“Over the past 18 months he approached his diagnosis with a characteristic grace and dignity. He will be missed hugely by us, his family and friends, and remembered as a kind-hearted, generous and compassionate man, partner and father, whose legacy of extraordinary work has touched the lives of so many over the years. We are heartbroken.”
David Warner was known for his villainous roles in Thirty Nine Steps and the cult classic movie Time Bandits.
He also had a slew of memorable roles like playing Bob Cratchit in the 1984 adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol and Kenneth Branagh’s father in Wallander. Other shows he has been in include Penny Dreadful, Doctor Who, and the original Twin Peaks. He was also the voice of the memorable Batman: The Animated Series villain Ra’s Al Ghul.
