PlayStation Game Gravity Rush Movie Is In The Works

The underrated Gravity Daze/Gravity Rush series of games from Silent Hill director Keiichiro Toyama is getting a movie adaptation.

The film is being produced by PlayStation Productions and Scott Free Productions according to a Deadline exclusive. Directing the film will be Anna Mastro (Secret Society of Second-Born Royals) and writing the script will be Emily Jerome (Panopticon). The film’s producer has yet to be decided; it could be Sony Pictures by default, but nothing is confirmed on this front.

Gravity Rush is about a girl named Kat who has the power to manipulate gravity, and acts as the protector of the floating town of Hekseville, fighting off invaders known as the Nevi and dealing with the world’s politics and government officials to boot. The game is renowned for its aesthetics and soundtrack, as well as its unique gameplay which may not gel with some critics and journalists back in the day. The game’s sequel is superior and amended a lot of the previous game’s flaws.
