Deadpool 3 Slated For 2024, Will Feature Hugh Jackman As Wolverine (Update)

Updated at 9.08pm on 28 September 2022:

Ryan Reynolds released a new video “explaining” certain stuff about Deadpool 3. However, we can’t actually hear what they’re saying because of the music.

He does confirm that this version of Wolverine will not be the same one from 2017’s Logan.

Third time’s a charm, right?

Deadpool/Wade Wilson’s debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be happening on 6th September 2024, in the form of Deadpool 3. To make that occasion special, Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds teases a long-awaited meeting with his old friend Wolverine.

Yes, Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in the MCU universe via a teaser video on Ryan Reynolds’ Twitter account. It showcases him thinking up ideas to make Deadpool 3 stand out, confessed that he has nothing, and then said he has one idea: bring in Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

The last time Hugh Jackman played Wolverine was in 2017’s Logan directed by James Mangold. While Jackman said that film will be the last time he plays the titular X-Man with the claws, he did express excitement to see other actors pick up the mantle. As for Deadpool teaming up with Wolverine? That’s been a common thing in the comics since Deadpool’s debut as a Rob Liefeld joint. Plus, Deadpool and Wolverine are from the same Weapon X program in comics lore, so it’s only fitting they eventually team up in the cinematic universe.

Check out the teaser video below.
