Soul Hackers 2 Gets Sorely-Needed Speedy Upgrades
While we loved the JRPGing Soul Hackers 2 had to offer, it sure as hell isn’t Shin Megami Tensei 5 material. At least Atlus plans to rectify that with a couple of new updates this November.
Atlus will release a free update for Soul Hackers 2 which adds the following:
- Dash Function – Added a “Dash” function to Ringo’s movement in dungeons and fields. You can switch between “Normal” and “Dash” as you like. (With the addition of the Dash function, the effect of the Summoner Skill “Assassin’s Stride” has been changed to, “Become undetectable to enemies for a fixed distance.”
- High-Speed Battle Mode – Added a “High-Speed” mode to battle. You can switch between “Normal” and “High-Speed” as you like.
- Four new demons: Aitvaras, Isis, Neko Shogun, and Pixie (Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers version).
- Some adjustments, including load times speeding up, random encounter frequencies, and ease of skill inheritance during Demon Fusion.
The first two are sorely needed due to Soul Hackers 2’s monotonous pacing at times. Ringo can Dash which can speed up dungeon crawling, and the high-speed battle mode can fast-forward repetitive battle animations for brevity’s sake.
Soul Hackers 2 is out now for Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as PC. Check out our review here.
