Silent Hill 2 Remake Announced, Will Be A PS5 Timed Exclusive

During the Silent Hill Transmission, Konami announced the Silent Hill 2 remake. It is developed by Bloober Team, who is best known for horror games like 2021’s The Medium and 2019’s Layers Of Fear 2.

The Silent Hill 2 remake will be a PS5 timed exclusive for 12 months before eventually releasing on other platforms like PC. PC is the only other platform confirmed so far.

The game is being built using Unreal Engine 5, utilizing both Lumen and Nanite. It will feature overhauled combat system and set pieces, 3D Audio and DualSense support, as well as no loading screens.

Silent Hill 2 was originally launched for the PS2, Xbox and PC back in 2001. It’s still the most iconic game in the franchise to date, so it makes sense for them to make a remake of this title, instead of the original.

Original Silent 2 developers like designer Masahiro Ito and composer Akira Yamaoka are involved with this new Silent Hill 2 remake.

You can wishlist the game on Steam.
