That iconic kharacter in the series will be featured in the next Mortal Kombat movie from New Line Cinema; he was teased in the prequel. Playing the titular kast member will be Karl Urban, according to reports from The Wrap. The Boys actor will be the wise-cracker in Mortal Kombat 2, which currently has no release date at the moment.
The 2021 Mortal Kombat movie that stars Singapore actor Chin Han as Shang Tsung has grossed over US$84 million worldwide, so a sequel is inevitable. In related news, Mortal Kombat 12 will be out this year according to a Warner Bros. earnings call. A 30th anniversary video for the MK series seem to hint that part 12 will reset the timeline.
