New Phantom Blade Zero Trailer Reveals The Franchise’s Dark Aesthetic Overhaul

At this year’s PlayStation Showcase, S-GAME and Cruel Man Studios revealed the trailer for their newest instalment to the Phantom Blade franchise, Phantom Blade Zero.

Previously, Phantom Blade was known for its side-scrolling anime aesthetic games but the trailer for Phantom Blade 0 showcases just how serious S-GAME is about legitimising the series as a PlayStation-exclusive hack ‘n’ slash.

Comparisons with Ghost of Tsushima will definitely be made but the biggest difference is definitely the colour palette that S-GAME and Cruel Man Studios decided to utilise. A big step away from the franchise’s almost-chibi-like art style. I wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t believe this game is even related to the original franchise.

As for release details, for now, we can expect the game to be released on the PS5 but we’re still waiting on a release date. Until then be sure to check out the trailer below.
