EA Teases Next Battlefield Testing Details
By Lewis Larcombe|February 3, 2025|0 Comment
Battlefield fans, it’s time to dust off those dog tags and prepare for incoming fire—of the news variety. EA has just confirmed that it’ll drop fresh intel on the next Battlefield game’s community testing program. The message? Tune in on Monday at 11:00 PM GMT+8 (5:00 PM CET / 8:00 AM PDT).
Accompanying the announcement was a slice of concept art for the upcoming shooter, which, while intriguing, doesn’t tell us much beyond “yes, this is still a Battlefield game.”

This next instalment in the Battlefield franchise has been cooking in EA’s internal studios for years. Last year, the publisher pulled back the curtain ever so slightly, confirming that the game is set in a “connected universe” with modern-day warfare at its core—because nothing says ‘modern’ like a Battlefield game where helicopters do barrel rolls and tanks perform parkour.
Byron Beede, the franchise’s big boss, reassured fans that the team has been playing the game internally for over a year. Not just that—they’ve also been testing it with actual players ahead of a wider community testing rollout in 2025. In other words, Battlefield has been in the oven for a while now, and EA is finally letting us have a sniff before it’s fully cooked.
To bring this game to life, EA has enlisted an army of developers. DICE is leading the charge on multiplayer—no surprises there—while Criterion is handling both single-player and multiplayer content. Motive, the studio behind the Dead Space remake and Star Wars: Squadrons, has also joined the fray alongside Ripple Effect.
So, with this many hands on deck, will Battlefield’s next outing be a well-oiled war machine or a chaotic free-for-all? Stay tuned. Either way, we’ll know more when EA kicks off the first round of testing details on Monday.
